An Average stay with a superior price tag

The Overall experience we had with as just average. I think we expected a bit too much from this property. Location: This is located in Blue Flag Beach. The back of the hotel touches the seashore. Though you have to pass through Hotel Panthanivas for beach entrance. You get unlimited access to the beach while you stay in this hotel. Stay: These people are very strict on their checkin time. Even though i did an advance booking, they did not allotted the room and made us wait till 9:00 am. After which they provided us a change room. The room was being prepared by then. Quiet irritating. Foods: Foods are also average. The breakfast is boring and repeating. The room service is Ok but costly. With a price tag of 4 Star this is an average 3 star hotel. But thats the story near most of the hotels in Blue Flag beach

A very average or poor experience we have had after paying for what 5 star Hotels charge on any destinations in India. The only plus point which the Hotel has, is its private Beach. The staff is not very well trained and the ambience is also too average. Everything including the Rooms ,Bathroom or poolside all is too average . If that wasnt enough the complimentary breakfast on all four days was the worst we ever had. A overall poor experience ,not suggested at this price.

Wonderful stay for 5th time

During Jun-2023, we stayed at Jamindars Palace hotel again. This was our 5th visit, and of course we will be visiting again. Without any request from our side, we were automatically allotted room 305, where we had stayed twice before, and had grown quite fond of it. The stay and food was as usual very satisfying. The balcony and the sea in front of it has always been the favourite for us, and is the primary reason for me going back there again and again. The recently demarcated Golden Beach is a wonderful addition to our overall visit to JP hotel. The hotel also provides complimentary tickets (once a day) for going to the Golden Beach. Anand in reception was very helpful throughout, during check in and check out as well. Billing process was very smooth. It's just a matter of time before I go back there again for my 6th time.

It is an average 3 star property but with a swimming pool. The staff is excellent and that really makes this place desirable. Somehow, we couldn’t find anything better around these dates in Puri. Didn’t understand the reason for this overcrowded time of the year! We only had breakfast here and it was average. The food menu looked average and usual. The super deluxe and deluxe room had a very nice sea view. The sea in Puri is very noisy, their sound proof doors are extremely effective. The wifi doesn’t work in the room. We were in room no. 406 & 301.

Bad odour in our suite and poor attitude of the front desk staff spoilt our vacation

We had opted for suite 407 as it was sea facing and just right for our group of three adults and a kid but there was a stink of sewage in the entire suite. As the smell was not coming from the bathroom but from the AC vent, it seems that the drainage and AC duct are interconnected somewhere. Despite multiple requests we were not provided an alternate room on the first night and had to stay in that unbearable stench. We were even okay with moving to a double room with an extra bed but the hotel refused to accommodate us and finally gave us a side view three bed family room on the second day, and even had the gall to say that they were providing an upgrade, simply because this room could accommodate six people. Initially they were also not willing to give any other concession despite our having to move from a costly sea facing suite to a large non sea facing room (that we didn't need). Eventually the hotel did give us a discount, but it was only after a major altercation with the duty manager Mr. Mishra at the front desk. At all times he made us feel that they were doing us a favour by changing our room even though their own housekeeping staff had come and confirmed the stench (and pleaded helplessness to do anything about it). It seemed to us that the hotel had sold us the room despite knowing that there was a problem with it (it was not available initially on their website when we were looking to book but was made available for us after we had called them). This lack of honesty and the abrasive behaviour from the manager Mr. Mishra really left a bad taste in the mouth. Apart from this incident and the fact that for a three star hotel prices were almost equivalent to five star hotel prices, the hotel also has other disadvantages: 1. No direct access to the beach - you have to take daily (free) tickets from the front desk and go through the adjacent OTDC Panthaniwas property 2. Prices of some menu items especially the tandoori pomfret are a bit on the higher side for the location 3. There is limited parking within the hotel compound and most people had to park in a no parking zone in the street outside. The limited parking inside the hotel can at the most accommodate six cars. In terms of positives, their restaurant is nice and their food is in general good. Also, apart from the manager Mr. Mishra everyone else was nice and cooperative. Room sizes are decent and they are well kitted and sea facing rooms have a good view.
